Pinepeak Cavern

Pinepeak Cavern is a small cave north of Ivarstead containing bears. It contains only one zone, Pinepeak Cavern.

Walkthrough

Exterior

A warm welcome

Following the road north out of Ivarstead, cross the Treva River as if you were going to climb the "7,000 steps" to High Hrothgar, and turn north at the start of the steps. The cave is on the shore opposite town. A bear guards the entrance. Two dead hunters lie at the mouth of the cavern, and in front of the cave by a large rock is a canis root.

A short tunnel soon opens into the main cave, with blood splattered on the floor. A rock formation is in the middle of the chamber, and a ledge starts on your right and curves around the cave. A bear will be sleeping or roaming at the end of the ledge. There is nothing else of interest on the ledge. By the ledge below the bear is an unlocked chest, a leveled potion of healing, a smashed cart, a pickaxe, a medium coin purse, and a kettle containing a diamond. To the right are the remains of an unfortunate person; among the bones is an iron dagger. Finally, to the right of the remains is a corundum ore vein and a copy of the Smithing skill book Heavy Armor Forging.

• Pinepeak Cavern also appears in ESO.

Bugs

• You may not be able to pick up the diamond. Nudge the kettle to tilt it slightly without dislodging the diamond, allowing you to reach the gem. You can also use the Unrelenting Force shout or Telekinesis on the kettle, then take the diamond.
