A guard has a crisis of faith

For twenty years all I've been is a loyal guard. I do what I'm supposed to, pay my taxes, and pray to the Gods. But they return me no favors.

I pray for riches, and I get guard duty. I pray for a good woman, and I get more guard duty.

Now I'm supposed to deliver this expensive-looking mask to the Temple. Well, it's time I made my own luck. I'm selling the thing to this Imperial I met at the Netch.

I'll just tell the priests the bloody mask got swallowed by a guar, so good luck finding it now.

Twenty years and I've never spoken a lie. They'll have no choice but to believe me.
