Morrowind expansion problems[edit]

I have been having troubles with tribunal and bloodmoon. things keep on poping up like" Chunk size 10 to big WEAT_ID in form REIN_ID size is 8 data truncated. continue runing?" and if I press yes another pops up. it keeps poping up untill the game crashes.(im not in the main menu when it crashes) Do you know what i should do? (98.177.195.131 19:01, 5 January 2010 (UTC))

That looks like a serious enough problem, sadly I can't give you a proper solution for it. What I can suggest is reinstalling Morrowind (followed by Tribunal, then Bloodmoon) and updating your (video) drivers and DirectX. Google doesn't give any conclusive information on the problem, so I can only give you those suggestions. --Timenn-<talk> 09:21, 7 January 2010 (UTC)

Ok thanks

Jewelery ok in UK[edit]

Jewelery is the correct spelling in the UK. Anarchangel 06:02, 10 January 2010 (UTC)

Actually, the UK spelling is "jewellery". UESP uses American spellings, though. –rpeh TCE 06:48, 10 January 2010 (UTC)
Correct. That was not my point, though. I was responding to the edit summary ("Bugs: "jewelry" is the correct spelling."); I have no problem with a wiki choosing to use either US or UK spelling, because neither is more "correct" than the other. I had overlooked the misspelling, though, so perhaps Timenn was responding to that. Anarchangel 19:06, 11 January 2010 (UTC)
Actually, if you see this page, you will see that as far as UESP is concerned, one is indeed more "correct" than the other. –rpeh TCE 19:18, 11 January 2010 (UTC)
Perhaps an example would help you understand. I would have used the phrase, "is the standard spelling for this wiki", rather than "is the correct spelling". As I said, I have no problem with policy, this is a matter of politeness, which is always good policy, don't you think? Anarchangel 20:11, 11 January 2010 (UTC)
You obviously understand the concept of correct and incorrect so I don't understand why you are having such difficulty understanding your mistake. Your initial post here stated "Jewelery is the correct spelling in the UK". That implies that any other spelling is incorrect in the UK. The site has a spelling policy. By your own logic, if you follow the policy, your spellings will be "correct"; if you don't, your spellings will be "incorrect". In the future, you may consider familiarizing yourself with site policies before making condescending posts. After all, that would only be polite. –rpeh TCE 20:18, 11 January 2010 (UTC)
You seem to have mistaken my motivations, and you have most surely mistaken my logic. It would not follow that UESP is bound to follow UK spelling, any more than it is bound to follow US spelling. It has been decided to do the latter, and that is the end of it. It would aid you, I think, to assume good faith; it would certainly be quite alright with me if you were to desist from declaring what my thought processes are. I intend no condescension, and I certainly do not intend to carry on this discussion, as I have given the clearest explanation I possibly can. I would not have to have been editing Wikipedia & various Wikia wikis for two years to be familiar with the interest of all wikis to set a standard for spelling, because it has a logical, if banal purpose (tidiness) which can be intuited.

These are my last words on the subject: Jewellery is the correct spelling in the UK; without regard to the spelling standard of this wiki, which I have always had every intention of upholding, it would be polite to refer to US spelling as something other than 'correct', as it can be read as implying that UK spellings are incorrect. So far, and I see no signs of it abating, you are dead keen to forbid me to do things that I never intended to do. Think of it this way, perhaps: your charge is upheld; these things will not be done. Anarchangel 21:26, 11 January 2010 (UTC)

Your motivations are perfectly clear. You objected to an edit summary because you hadn't read the policy. Please don't pretend any different. –rpeh TCE 21:50, 11 January 2010 (UTC)
Right, the main reason I judged it to be "incorrect" is that on numerous other places on that same article it was spelled as "jewelry", and I know it's spelled like that on the entire wiki. I don't spend all my time keeping track of the different spellings for words in American and British English, I simply base my decisions on my knowledge on what is present on the wiki.
Edit summaries aren't meant to be used as discussions, so some good faith has to be taken when you read them. If you are not sure what someone intended with his/her edit summary than you can ask that person by talk page, like you did. But insisting that I would have to choose the most diplomatically correct edit summary every time is something I find somewhat unnecessary. --Timenn-<talk> 20:25, 12 January 2010 (UTC)

Marksman Question[edit]

In case you don't see it while patrolling, please can you take a look at this and let us have the fruits of your knowledge? :) –rpeh TCE 00:06, 12 January 2010 (UTC)

Would have gotten there eventually, I think. But this certainly speeds it up. ;) --Timenn-<talk> 20:32, 12 January 2010 (UTC)

missing creature[edit]

in the oblivion creatures section should'nt there be a place for the forest guardian?--The holy crap 19:09, 2 February 2010 (UTC)

It's already here. It was separated from the vanilla Oblivion creatures since it is added by a plug-in. --S'drassa T2M 20:56, 2 February 2010 (UTC)

Help[edit]

Can you help me a bit? I'm going to create a page and I'd like you to delete it afterwards. It's about this problem. -- Nx / talk 09:21, 4 February 2010 (UTC)

Sure, no problem. Just add some extra exclamation marks to edit summaries, and I'm sure to notice it ;) I'm watching the RC at the moment, though that could be a bit unreliable (at work, at the moment). --Timenn-<talk> 09:24, 4 February 2010 (UTC)
Hm, it looks like I can't edit/create the page, oh well, back to the drawing board. Thanks anyhow. -- Nx / talk 09:29, 4 February 2010 (UTC)

Warning[edit]

Just thought I would inquire as to why I was just warned on my IP's talk page? This post is the first and only time of which I have edited this site. --97.73.64.170 21:25, 7 February 2010 (UTC)

The warning referred to this edit made from IP 97.73.64.170. Now it's perfectly possible that someone else was using that IP address at that time, and if the warning doesn't apply to you, feel free to remove the warning. Please state the reason in the edit summary when removing it, so other editors will know you're removing it because it doesn't apply to you. --Timenn-<talk> 12:44, 8 February 2010 (UTC)

Page content confusion[edit]

I recently made quite an update to the Calvus Horatius page. It has already been stripped down and I'm wondering what exactly was wrong with it. an External link to the Vvardenfall transportation fix (which allows Calvus and other companions to travel to and from Mournhold) was removed for what I could see as no reason whatsoever, as it has been mentioned on other companion related pages as well.

I also noticed that instead of adding useful information, the user added a reply to a reply in part of the notes regarding enchantment issues on the NPC. This seems horribly obnoxious and is completely unproductive to have on the actual wiki page and not the Discussion.

Any info on what is right or wrong in these instances would be greatly appreciated. I only registered yesterday to help add to that one page, and seeing as it's already been removed and my time wasted, I'm not very inclined to help in the future. — Unsigned comment by Autimneous Burke (talkcontribs) on 18 March 2010

I believe you are mostly referring to this edit. Whether you agree with the provided reasons for the removal given in the edit summary, I don't feel you can say no reasons have been given at all. I don't know to with other companion related articles you are referring, as we don't usually cover third-party mods on this site.
The verification tag that was added to the note definitely falls into the workings of this wiki. The editor noticed a claim that he felt was unclear or inconsistent with other info provided, and flagged it as such. This is not only for maintenance purposes, but also to make readers aware of the possible inconsistency or falsehood of the claim made in the note.
I'm sorry if you feel wronged when your edits were partially reverted, but I can assure you there was no ill intent behind it and I should say that the site notifies you of the consequences when editing this wiki ("If you don't want your writing to be edited mercilessly, then don't submit it here."). I feel that discarding other people's motivations and reasons as obnoxious or unproductive not to be respectful, so I would like to ask you to refrain from doing that. --Timenn-<talk> 10:25, 19 March 2010 (UTC)

Pages needing Deletion[edit]

Hi, I just wanted to let an Admin know that two less than good pages have been proposed for deletion but they've been up for a couple of days so I don't know if you or GK have noticed them.

Oblivion:How to kill mannicardo

Oblivion:New ideas

Thanks, --Arch-Mage MattTalk 16:13, 20 March 2010 (UTC)

Check out our Deletion Policy. Most articles/images need to be proposed for deletion for at least seven days before they can be deleted. Speedy Deletions are the exception, and those pages must meet a certain criteria. Pages proposed for deletion can be found here, images proposed for deletion can be found here, and pages/images marked for Speedy Deletion are here. There's also a category for pages proposed for deletion by a bot, as well as a category for articles that need more discussion before we decide if they are to be deleted or not. --GKtalk2me 19:14, 20 March 2010 (UTC)
I think GK basically covered all the necessary stuff. Administrators can use the category to keep track of necessary deletions. Still, it's nice if editors keep track of the unnecessary articles, so thanks for that. --Timenn-<talk> 21:32, 21 March 2010 (UTC)

Gray Cowl[edit]

I don't agree with what you did here and here. UESP has always included the literal phrase where spelling errors exist and I don't see why that should be changed in this case. Placing quotation marks around a phrase should only be done where it is reproduced exactly, and that's no longer the case. I do agree that the previous phrasing wasn't ideal, but I can't go along with the version you've provided. rpeh •TCE 14:02, 16 April 2010 (UTC)

The quotation marks can be changed if necessary, or made to imply they're there because there's a reference to the Thieves Guild farewell (and not because of the literal translation). Sadly, there is no definition on how literal an exact translation must be. For example, one can translate the greek word "καταγραφω" literally to to down write (κατα = down, γραφω = to write), but the actual meaning of the word will be lost. If you translate the word somewhat less literally, you'll get "enumerate", which describes the word better. Some degree of changes must be made in order for the translation to be sensible.
I can see where the nature of the Daedric Alphabet is less complex (simply replacing latin characters with new ones), but I do think that the moment that Bethesda implemented rules like the missing 'y' and such, they did make the language less like a just a different font, and more a separate language (though still far off from it). I find the implied, but missing, letters similar to how to is added to verbs in English, while the word is not translated literally in other languages. to write simply translates to the single word ecrire in French. Similarly, talking about apples in French won't you get far if you don't add the untranslatable des (des pommes) at the right places.
In short, one can translate the phrase to shadow hide ou, literally, but it will be a bad translation. I can see that my changes brought confusion, which wasn't the intention so it needs further editing. My main goal though, was to get rid of the incorrect shadow hide ou. --Timenn-<talk> 08:47, 19 April 2010 (UTC)
But it's not incorrect. "Shadow hide ou" is literally what the cowl says. That's why we have the {{sic}} tag. rpeh •TCE 18:00, 19 April 2010 (UTC)
So, if we're treating it as a quote, wouldn't it be acceptable to use "Shadow hide [y]ou", using brackets to insert a character that wasn't present in the original but makes the phrase easier to read and understand? --GKtalk2me 17:07, 20 April 2010 (UTC)
I believe '[' and ']' are used to imply something that is not literally present in the original (but implied in context), so I'd say that it would serve these circumstances adequately.
I do still disagree with rpeh, I find that translation includes the preservation of the meaning of a piece of text, rather than only substituting the characters, but I welcome the above solution. --Timenn-<talk> 09:42, 21 April 2010 (UTC)

paint brushs?[edit]

hi!i was just wondering why you deleted the brgige and trap part on the constrution with paint brushs on the things to do when you're bored page?i mean the brige part was there for a loooong time and the traping thing might help some people like if they want to keep a travaling NPC a live or keep miag the liar in one place--GUM!!! 15:37, 19 April 2010 (UTC)

I removed the entire extra section because I felt that it was getting out of hand. The article should only suggest the main basics of what you can do with floating paintbrushes. If we would start to cover all possibilities it would just turn out into an incredibly large section with insane ideas added by editors who feel challenged to come up with even more. The fact that some ideas are on the article for a long amount of time doesn't immediately suggest it's a good idea. It may simply be that no editor had spotted it yet (which is sensible, considering plenty of editors avoid the entire article). --Timenn-<talk> 09:47, 21 April 2010 (UTC)
hmm...i have a good idea!why don't we separate it and make a whole new thing!--GUM!!! 11:45, 21 April 2010 (UTC)
No, sorry, I don't think that's a good idea. I feel we already have too many "idea" pages. The problem is that they mainly serve as an outlet for everyone to express their ideas and enthuousiasm on the games, and very few readers will actually be interested in the ideas of others. That's basically what a message board is for, and we do have one right here. --Timenn-<talk> 11:52, 21 April 2010 (UTC)
oh ok it's just i don't really go to chat rooms...--GUM!!! 12:07, 21 April 2010 (UTC)

i have another idea!how about we end the thing like"there are so many things to do with pait burshs that we can't list them all so be creative!"or something like that?--GUM!!! 18:09, 21 April 2010 (UTC)

Probably not a good idea, either. If we said that everywhere it was applicable, it would get rather old. I'd prefer to trust that the readers can infer that much from what's provided. --GKtalk2me 01:14, 22 April 2010 (UTC)

Another "Note of Bounty"[edit]

I found a Note of Bounty and decided to look it up on the Wiki. I found it, exactly the same, and followed the directions in reverse. (The sword points NE, so I traveled SW in an attempt to find the starting point for S's and G's) However, I could not find anything. I looked up the location of the Fort where the Note of Bounty non-journal quest starts, to find that the fort is halfway across the map, to the north west. I followed the non-journal quest from there and found a second Note of Bounty with the same message.

The first one I found is north of Fort Gold-Throat. About 100 feet. The chest contained, for me, some gold, Clannfear Claws, and an enchanted ring (Grand Ring of Detect Life). I believe it is another non-journal quest that has not been added. Both quests ended with an enchanted object, though I do not know where this quest started. I assume it is another non-journal due to the same "Blessed are those who explore the unbeaten path..." message. I'm afraid I haven't the slightest idea where the quest begins, only the location of the reward.

I would appreciate it if it confirmed and possibly added to the wiki - I'm not experienced enough to do it myself, I fear it would look like vandalism or scripted nonsense if I attempt to do so.— Unsigned comment by 75.68.209.69 (talk)

Are you perhaps referring to The Unbeaten Path? I couldn't figure out whether you implied you already knew about that quest, but the locations you are referring to are listed in that quest.
Furthermore, do not fear to be seen as a vandal. Even when the information you add to an article is reverted, it doesn't mean it was vandalism. Edits made out of good faith (which is clearly true in your case) are never considered to be vandalism. Don't be afraid to add information to articles you feel fits. It's true it might be reverted (or altered) by another editor who feels the added information is wrong, but it's all according to how the wiki should work. --Timenn-<talk> 08:26, 17 May 2010 (UTC)

I knew that that would be the assumption, haha. Unfortunately, I was not. I found a Note of Bounty completely by accident and decided to look it up, and found it. I noticed that the non-journal quest sends you Northeast, so I traveled Southwest to find where the quest started for my own amusement. I kept traveling in that direction but did not find Fort Coldcorn (Sp?). I looked up the location of the quest starting location, to find it was halfway across the map, and there was no way that one would be expected to walk Northeast that far. So I fast-traveled to Coldcorn and followed the sword, etc, and found a second Note of Bounty, identical to the first. I believe there is a second Unbeaten Path non-journal quest that ends at Fort Gold-Throat. I was rewarded with an enchanted ring, gold, and clannfear claws, unlike the chest at the end of The Unbeaten Path. The problem is that I have no idea what direction the quest started in.

So, I found a second Note of Bounty miles away from the intended one in The Unbeaten Path which had a completely different reward, but presumably the same intentions. The second Note is located about 100 feet north of Fort Gold-Throat, in a slightly hidden chest. — Unsigned comment by 75.68.209.69 (talk) on 17 May 2010

There are four Notes of Bounty - I added the other two to the relevant page a couple of days ago. The other three are found with small caches of treasure but don't really represent unmarked quests. rpeh •TCE 17:09, 17 May 2010 (UTC)

Thanks, rpeh, I was wondering why that/those Note(s) of Bounty had not been added. I appreciate the help, Timenn and rpeh.

Question About Safe "Containers"[edit]

I just bought the house in Skingrad along with all the upgrades - I have plenty of cash at hand and not nearly as much Encumbrance to handle the items I'm getting, but I also don't want to get rid of the heavier, unique items (Mostly found in the Shivering Isles, such as Shadowrend)

For aesthetic's sake, are items that go into a display case safe? Or will the entire building be reset, losing the items? I must assume that, being they are not "containers," that they are not safe for storage. — Unsigned comment by 75.68.209.69 (talk)

What is your view on the matter? Can this be added to the database, in case others want to make their home look deadly as well?

yes display cases are safe but i'm not sure about the containersGUM!!! 01:32, 28 May 2010 (UTC)
The containers in any of the owned houses, except for the one in Anvil, are safe. It's just the display cases I was worried about — Unsigned comment by 75.68.209.69 (talk)
Your houses' interiors will not reset, so even items you just drop on the floor are safe. Strangely enough, dropping items in the middle of the street is also safe, provided some random NPC does not need a weapon if they are attacked. Vesna 03:07, 31 May 2010 (UTC)

NukeWalesPlease[edit]

May I just ask why this user was blocked? ArnyTalk 10:17, 22 June 2010 (UTC)

I'd like to add here that I agree with the block for this particular account. The last discussion about this subject indicated that most preferred that admins simply decide on a case-by-case basis if the name is acceptable or not. It seems quite clear to me that this account name is unacceptable. --GKtalk2me 23:38, 22 June 2010 (UTC)

Scorpio Edit[edit]

Just FYI, I had changed the text to say Ranger's talk page because of the fact that Scorpio had, at one time, been blocked from editing his own talk page and I didn't think it was clear in the message that he'd been unblocked. Since he appears to be making a fresh start as Ranger, and there was some mention of that in one of the notices, and of course the existing appeal that he's posted is there as well, I figured that was the logical place to have any discussion. In the end, it really doesn't matter much, as long as there's somewhere he can legitimately ask for an appeal, but I just thought I'd explain my thinking in light of the revert. Ultimately, he has asked for an appeal, even if he did so on Ranger's talk page rather than Scorpio's, so that should probably be addressed, whether by you or another admin. Robin Hoodtalk 01:21, 27 June 2010 (UTC)

It seems Scorpio/Ranger wants to use the Ranger name rather than Scorpio. When you have a minute, please could you swap the blocks around, if you agree that's fine? See this exchange for more info. rpeh •TCE 16:36, 27 June 2010 (UTC)
Done with the swapping of settings.
RH, I understood your reason for the change in message. It's just that I prefer the history of the events to be clear when reading the talk page, so that's why I felt you should have posted an update on the situation, rather than changing my initial message. --Timenn-<talk> 09:22, 28 June 2010 (UTC)

Excel Worksheet[edit]

Hello, I'm new in this wiki, after playing oblivion for some time, i found myself in need of a easy way to control my character level up, to maximize the attributes allocation, with this in mind I've created a excel worksheet. So, here is my question, it's possible for me to "publish" this in this wiki? If yes, tell me how, and before publishing, i would like that you check it before, just to search for major English problems (English is not my mother language, so it's like 99% chance that i misspelled something or did other types of errors) and of course, see if it worth posting

Think that's all for now, thx in advance

I should never have doubted you![edit]

I remember a conversation in IRC where I waxed lyrical about how the local in-game map was nothing to do with the CS maps. I apologise, dear sir! I humbly apologise! rpeh •TCE 04:35, 14 August 2010 (UTC)

answer[edit]

If you delete my question about divine ,can you give me the answer. (Vvardfell 10:42, 4 October 2010 (UTC))

That was the problem. I could not decipher your question. I guessed that it wasn't a direct question, but rather a more theoretical one; one you can't really expect an answer for. --Timenn-<talk> 11:23, 4 October 2010 (UTC)

Inactivity[edit]

Aren't users considered inactive after a month or more without editing? --Rigas Papadopoulos • TalkDeeds 19:49, 24 October 2010 (UTC)

By whom? --Timenn-<talk> 19:56, 24 October 2010 (UTC)
Special:Statistics. And please don't call me a random user. --Rigas Papadopoulos • TalkDeeds 20:01, 24 October 2010 (UTC)
"Active User" isn't an abstract property, it's always determined by related content. Using an automatic site statistic completely out of context is why I labelled your action as arbitrarily. You're not special, merely an editor like everyone else; thus a random editor. You don't decide on your own what the status of other editors is. Period. --Timenn-<talk> 20:11, 24 October 2010 (UTC)
Sorry, I was partly to blame in that I was kind of iffy, but decided to patrol it anyway since we haven't heard from Nephele in over a month. Normally, I would have waited more like two or three months before bumping an Admin down to the Inactive list, and I probably should've reverted the change. Rigas: I can understand your reasoning, but especially for Admins, it's best to leave it for a long time, and probably best to let another Admin or a Patroller do that sort of thing. Also, on many sites, the "Active Users" on Special:Statistics is set to only a week, so that's not a very good way to judge who's "Active" in any other context. Robin Hoodtalk 00:59, 25 October 2010 (UTC)
Timenn, I know I am an editor like anyone else, I just don't like how the "random user" sounds. It's kind of degrading. Robin Hood, I agree. I believe that the time should be set to either one month or three months so that there is a fixed time. --Rigas Papadopoulos • TalkDeeds 05:06, 25 October 2010 (UTC)
I'm sorry if you feel that way about it, but there's hardly any other method to describe the situation if people start reading more into things that there are actually is (perhaps you're not totally familiar with the word "random"). You're free to start a discussion somewhere (not on my talk page!) on activity statuses of other editors, but I think you should leave other editors alone and let them decide on their own how they wish to advertise their availability. --Timenn-<talk> 14:28, 26 October 2010 (UTC)

List of voice actor from Morrowind[edit]

Hi. I noticed on some pages (mainly Dagoth Ur and Almalexia) that you mentioned starting a voice actor page for Morrowind, but that it wasn't yet complete. I was really interested as well on knowing who voiced who and I was wondering how it was going?

If you could share what's done, I would love to help on that if I can.

POLE7645 22:29, 28 February 2011 (UTC)

I managed to figure out most of the voicework, with some uncertainties, just never finished it (including references). It was compiled by comparing the voices from the Morrowind sound files with those of Oblivion and the personal webpages (or YouTube clips) of the voice actors listed in the Morrowind credits.
male female
Altmer David DeBoy Catherine Flye
Argonian Jonathan Bryce Elisabeth Noone
Bosmer  ?? Cami St. Germain??
Breton Wes Johnson Catherine Flye
Dunmer Dude Walker?? Linda Kenyon
Imperial Jeff Baker Shari Elliker
Khajiit Jonathan Bryce Melissa Leebaert??
Nord Jonathan Bryce Lynda Carter
Orc Jonathan Bryce Elisabeth Noone
Redguard Michael Mack Gayle Jessup
--Timenn-<talk> 14:03, 2 March 2011 (UTC)
Interesting. Only, I found a few inconsistencies with some informations I found.
Jeff Baker was confirmed for a long time to be the voice of the male Dumner. Maybe you switched the Imperial and the Dumner credits?
Wes Johnson stated in his IMDB resume (not IMDB page, but resume. That's something only he can change), that he voiced orcs. And various gods, which brings me to another point. Have you figured out the voice of characters with unique dialogue such as Dagoth Ur (who really sounds like an Imperial from Oblivion, aka Wes Johnson)?
POLE7645 02:55, 3 March 2011 (UTC)
Ok, went ahead and drafted up the Voice Actors article in my sandbox. Feel free to edit it where necessary. Some voices need to be checked.
Dunmer male voices need to be checked thoroughly. The voice was very likely morphed in processing. There are no long Dunmer monologues to listen to, as far as I can find them, so needs some further research. Jeff Baker does voice the Imperials in Morrowind. Orcs need to be checked again (they are voiced by Bryce in Oblivion at least)
Daedric Princes need to be checked. At least they have long monologues, but most of them were morphed. Jeff Baker definitely voices Dagoth Ur. If you listened to Jeff Baker enough in Fallout 3 you can recognize him after listening to Dagoth Ur's taunts.
Morrowind dialogue files can be found in the Morrowind\Data Files\Sound\vo\ sub-directories. --Timenn-<talk> 13:37, 3 March 2011 (UTC)
Checked it again for the Dumner males (It doesn't feel morphed in post production, though.). The same voice appear in Redguard (Dram) and Fallout 3 (Desmond Lockheart. The other ghouls have a different voice) and Jeff Baker is credited in both while Walker isn't. I checked Walker's demos on his website and it doesn't resemble Dumners, or any voices I heard. I have limited access to the game (so I won't be able to check easily), but I'd bet on some of the Daedric princes POLE7645 17:42, 3 March 2011 (UTC)
Comparing it with Desmond from Fallout 3's Point Lookout I have to agree on Jeff Baker voicing the Dunmer males as well. The Daedric Princes are all voiced by either Jeff Baker and Wes Johnson (the male voices). I haven't figured out which actress voiced Mephala though. --Timenn-<talk> 11:52, 4 March 2011 (UTC)
Hi again. I was about to update the IMDB pages with your data (a strange hobby of mine) and I noticed that on the credits of the Expansions (Tribunal and Bloodmoon), there are a small number of voice actors listed in the credits (a smaller number than listed in the credits of Morrowind), which leads me to believe that there has been more dialogue recorded for those expansions. I don't have much access to Morrowind right now and even less to the expansions, so I wonder if there are additional race greetings or if it's simply new dialogue for new (and unique) characters. I thought that might be interesting for the page (with separate sections for the expansion characters).
The credits lists Jeff Baker, Shari Elliker and Linda Canyon for Tribunal and Jeff Baker, Jonathan Bryce, Linda Canyon, Lynda Carter and Shari Elliker in Bloodmoon.POLE7645 05:02, 13 March 2011 (UTC)

IMPORTANT QUESTION DIRECTLY TO YOU (Timenn)[edit]

I am not logged in at the current time, so thats why i appear as an anon...my question for you is, are you supposed to be Timeoin? For instance, your name resembles his and you may have mispelled it 1.porpesfully (security reasons) or 2.just a typeout. I also noticed you started out in Morrowind just like Timeoin. i am a very good member of SkyrimWiki, and i also go to the IRC channel. I note that SkyrimWiki is like UESP's enemy, but what the heck? I dont feel like editing my nonsense in this message out. So just reply on THIS page, please. I read the terms of this stuff, too, so dont think im a rulebreaker!

thanks from: LukaSlayR13 (or LukaSlayer13 on UESP)

No, Timenn is not Timeoin. Or rather, the other way around. Timenn registered at UESP on 16 April 2007. Timeoin registered on ESWiki (aka SkyrimWiki) on 8 March 2011 and on UESP on 20 March 2011. ESWiki isn't our enemy because they're too small and insignificant for us to worry about; the only reason I bother looking there is because people keep copying UESP's content without attribution, which is against the law. rpeh •TCE 22:34, 16 June 2011 (UTC)

Edit reversion (time period)[edit]

Hi Timenn, I would like your input concerning the talk page for Morrowind plug-ins. A user had posted that one of the plugins was included in the Xbox GOTY version three years back, but this had been left unanswered, so I posted a confirmation in case someone wished to mention it in the article. My edit was reverted simply because of the time between that edit and mine. I changed this back because that shouldn't matter, as my comment is simply intended to provide confirmation, but it was reverted again by another user for the same reason. So far, I have been unable to find any site policies which suggest that this action is appropriate; however, I am used to wikis in which normal users are not allowed to remove the talk page comments of other users, and having my edit reverted twice for something so arbitrary tells me that I simply shouldn't bother contributing to this one. --87.254.64.49 18:45, 7 December 2011 (UTC)

Well, i'm not Timenn but i've been around a small amount of time. And it's an unwritten rule, any old topic is '"archived" (not on a separate page, just left). Anything over a year is an old topic, whilst anything over 6 months is unlikely to be read by the original poster. Whilst this probably wants writing down, it's just never been done. The only people that will revert (or should do) have generally been around a while, or are a Userpatroller, Patroller or an Admin --Kiz ·•· Talk ·•· Contribs ·•· Mail ·•· 19:18, 7 December 2011 (UTC)
I've re-added your comment and replied. While we usually leave old discussions die, I think the confirmation of this note is definitely worth further input. --Legoless 23:06, 7 December 2011 (UTC)
There exists a small clause about removing talk page contributions here, which is probably the one the editors picked up on. Still, it only makes it acceptable to remove such contributions, not mandatory. Here is where every editor would interpret it differently. I can't really say whether there was a right or wrong in this. Considering there is no discussion page to discuss a removal from a discussion page, I would probably have kept the comment (especially the second time) myself. The linked guideline is mostly enable editors to keep discussions from growing longer than necessary, but not for having to moderate every talk page contribution. --Timenn-<talk> 10:39, 8 December 2011 (UTC)
That is fine, if the users here think the comment is worth leaving, but the original poster should not have reversed the original removal, since it was removed by a patroller. The original poster should have instead posted on my Talk page to explain why a 3-year-old topic was replied to. I would likely have put it back myself. --Brf 23:45, 8 December 2011 (UTC)
