Rent (2005)[edit]
Is "rent" an error? It looks like the correct form of the past passive participle of "rend" to me. Pavielpetrovich (talk) 19:17, 3 September 2020 (UTC)
- The word has a sic on it to show you that the word is an error.Zebendal (talk) 19:19, 3 September 2020 (UTC)

- I've done the quest a couple times and she definitely says "rent" in her dialogue, its not a spelling error or anything. It's not the meaning of rent as paying money type of deal, its more this definition:
- noun:
- 1. An opening made by rending or tearing; slit; fissure.
- 2. A breach of relations or union between individuals or groups; schism.
- 3. verb: simple past tense and past participle of rend.

- Actually, in this case, the sic is there, I think, because a significant portion of people will THINK it is wrong. This is a secondary usage of sic, just to indicate that this isn't a typo and shouldn't be fixed, not that it IS a typo and shouldn't be fixed. We should probably update the description param of the template to indicate that the word is correctly spelled. Jeancey (talk) 20:19, 3 September 2020 (UTC)
