Skyrim talk:Thirsk Mead Hall
Contents
Type[edit]
This location was categorized as a settlement based on the map icon. While the map icons and types usually correlate, that's not always the case. Consider Nightgate Inn, for example. Thirsk Mead Hall isn't really a settlement, but it isn't really a typical inn either. I'm wondering if someone with access to game data can figure out what type of keywords are associated with this location so we can get an accurate type listed on the page. — ABCface◥ 23:10, 16 December 2012 (GMT)
- The DLC2ThirskMeadHallLocation has the Keywords LocTypeHabitation, LocTypeSettlement and WIComplexinteractionToggle . The DLC2ThirskMeadHallInteriorLocation has only the keyword LocTypeDwelling.
- But quite a few minor things have the LocTypeSettlement keyword, so I'm not sure it says anything. Examples: Abandoned Shack, Whistling mine, Sarethi Farm, Gloombound Mine. --Alfwyn (talk) 23:16, 16 December 2012 (GMT)
Respawning Rieklings[edit]
I just found respawned Rieklings in and outside the hall after having completed the retaking quest - not quite what I would have expected. No respawned Riekling Chief though. --Alfwyn (talk) 17:55, 12 February 2013 (GMT)
- I also have experienced it. Jeancey (talk) 17:59, 12 February 2013 (GMT)
- Ditto, also mentioned in a previous discussion here. Should probably be mentioned on this page, I guess. — ABCface◥ 18:17, 12 February 2013 (GMT)
- I made multiple playthoughs with various versions of the Unofficial Patch and Rielings always respawn. This means this bug was never fixed or the fix was broken in later versions. If someone can confirm this then I guess the note about it having been fixed should be removed. 77.161.90.7 21:27, 12 December 2013 (GMT)

not in the retreat[edit]
The people that are not in bujold's retreat will only appear after completing At the summit of apocrypha otherwise they are working on Miraak's temple. — Unsigned comment by 212.41.136.179 (talk) at 19:36 on 7 May 2013
A bug or not ?[edit]
The notes and bug sections...either the Rieklings are supposed to spawn or they aren't...?!? — Unsigned comment by 70.190.247.253 (talk) at 19:07 on 21 June 2013
- It's both. They are supposed to spawn once (that's the note). They are not supposed to continue to spawn for the rest of time, which they do (that's the bug). Make sense? :) Jeancey (talk) 19:15, 21 June 2013 (GMT)
Forge[edit]
Does the forge regain functionality if you complete The Chief of Thirsk quest or do you have to retake Thirsk for the nords for it to work? If the either is true, maybe there should be mention of that on the page. 71.103.12.178 18:46, 19 July 2013 (GMT)
Strange behavior of Mead Hall NPCs[edit]
I've noticed that often when they leave the Mead Hall, they become unresponsive and will only say a few lines like "the master calls," "I am his hands," and "the idle mind sleeps." At first I thought they had been indoctrinated by Miraak, but none of that is in his mantra.--174.62.170.5 19:59, 14 December 2013 (GMT)
- Who are "they", the rieklings or the Thirsk warriors? What platform are you playing? If it is pc, do you have any mods or unofficial patches installed? —MortenOSlash (talk) 19:37, 15 December 2013 (GMT)
- The Thirsk warriors. Xbox 360.--174.62.170.5 22:58, 15 December 2013 (GMT)
Nord Nonsense[edit]
You can kill each one of the Nord residents one by one after you retake Thirsk for the Nords and they do not care at all. They remain completely neutral and act as if you aren't there, as in saying generic dialogue that NPCs say when they see corpses in a town. — Unsigned comment by 74.132.24.67 (talk) at 23:06 on 30 April 2018 (UTC)
- This is a general limitation of the game engine, not really about the location or the quest. —MortenOSlash (talk) 07:07, 1 May 2018 (UTC)
