CC Mod Icons[edit]

Hey there! Thanks for your various edits like this one, but the lack of icon is actually the result of a template bug that I'll have to work on tracking down. I just made changes to the template CC Header relies on yesterday, so obviously I missed something. You should never have to define an icon or shortcut for that template except on the main mod page itself. Robin Hood(talk) 22:46, 23 January 2023 (UTC)

Gotcha, I'll reverse the icon edits--ErfXploded (talk) 23:00, 23 January 2023 (UTC)
Thanks, I appreciate it! Robin Hood(talk) 23:08, 23 January 2023 (UTC)

G Template[edit]

Hey there, per the second conversation on this page, I'm not sure we should keep converting over to the usage of that template. Although RH offered to do bot runs to mitigate the damage it would do, I don't think the potential for the damage the be mitigated overcomes the fact that simply using italics in the first place shouldn't be that much more difficult difficult to do, and it doesn't add an additional maintenance task that needs doing to the site. --AKB Talk Cont Mail 17:04, 16 May 2023 (UTC)

OK, replaced it in the few edits i did today--ErfXploded (talk) 17:12, 16 May 2023 (UTC)
Hijacking this discussion to say, I saw your edit on Lore:Ayleid Empire. What's the purpose of the nowiki things around the colon in DLCs? Just asking so I can fix the rest of my pages Mindtrait0r (talk) 14:57, 18 May 2023 (UTC)
I just replace {{g|skyrim}} with {{subst:g|skyrim}}. The nowiki tag is in the original template, and subst replaces the usage of the template with the text that template produces. The tag was needed in the template, but it doesn't affect anything in the plain text as far as i know.--ErfXploded (talk) 15:05, 18 May 2023 (UTC)
The <nowiki> is there to avoid having the colon being interpreted as an indent. In the examples on the template page, the colon between "ESO" and "Scribes of Fate" would be interpreted as an indent. The wiki software's a little weird that way. Most of the time, you want a leading colon in an if/switch to be interpreted as formatting at the start of the line, but if you don't, like in the G template, there's no way to tell not to do that short of surrounding the colon with <nowiki>s. Merch Gallery[edit]

Is there a reason you uploaded these images to userspace rather than adding them to the Merchandise namespace? I noticed two of the images are already used across the site, so I've taken the liberty to move them. I'd like to do the same with the others and create some of the redlinks on Merchandise:Figurines. —Legoless (talk) 13:47, 18 May 2024 (UTC)

Hi! I uploaded the figurines for the future figurines page that I was going to contribute eventually. Not sure what was the reason for keeping them in Userspace. I think i was confused by the Merchandise images category back then. You are free to move them out of userspace, absolutely. ErfXploded (talk) 15:04, 18 May 2024 (UTC)

Etymologies[edit]

Hello! I notice that you've been adding real world etymologies to pages. While it has been a while since it has come up (about 10 years) the previous consensus was to NOT have etymologies on pages, and that while any longstanding etymology notes could remain, no new ones should be added, and that lore, specifically, should not have any etymologies. There more recently, there has been a page in General space for Etymologies (General:Etymology. I think most of your edits should be relocated there. If you want to try and change consensus, you can always open a community portal post about it, but until then, I think the etymology notes should be removed to the General space page. Thanks!
